What is a Fake Order?

A fake order includes (but is not limited to):

• Placing an order with false or misleading information
• Using fake names, phone numbers, or addresses
• Submitting orders with no intent to receive or pay
• Repeatedly placing and cancelling orders to cause disruption
• Abusive or threatening communication through fake orders

Legal Action Against Fake Orders

Fake orders are taken very seriously at TheBooksCart, as they cause loss of time, resources, and financial damage. In accordance with Pakistani law, we reserve the right to take legal action in the following cases:

Under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC):

• Section 417 – Cheating
• Section 420 – Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property

Punishment: May include fine and/or imprisonment.

Under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016:

• Section 24 – Cyberstalking
• Section 25 – Spoofing (Impersonation or Fake Identity)
• Section 21/22 – Harmful or misleading content

Complaints may be filed with FIA Cyber Crime Wing.

Civil Legal Action:

We reserve the right to file a claim for damages in court if we incur losses due to repeated fake orders or reputational harm.

Evidence Collection

If a fake order is suspected, we may collect the following information for legal and security purposes:

• IP address logs
• Email and phone records
• Delivery attempt logs
• Chat or communication history
• Screenshots of any abuse or fraud attempts

How We Prevent Fake Orders

To ensure a secure shopping experience, we may:

• Verify orders via OTP (One-Time Password) or Call Confirmation
• Require Advance Payment for high-risk or suspicious orders
• Cancel orders without notice if fraud is suspected
